Abstract

Energy systems are at the heart of SDG7 but impact the rest of the other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Energy systems encompass all human components, environmental and industrial involved in the extraction, production, conversion, distribution and end use of energy. A multidisciplinary, global and systemic perspective is necessary to understand the complexity supply flows and use of energy and facilitate effective interventions that promote each of the goals of the energy transition.
